So now that I can chat with you guys on this side, this is the crazy up and down of posting videos to YouTube. I invested a LOT of hours in the latest video. Included never before seen video footage, interviews, etc. and it is essentially not getting any views.
Some of my biggest videos are ones I threw together on a whim and released them at odd days/hours. You just never know what is going to get traction.
The views for the latest one are so bad, I am considering pulling it and re-releasing it again in a few weeks. No guarantee that will change the outcome, but no real risk either.
1 CommentWell, really impossible to say as the YT “algorithm” is so complex, YT can no longer adequately explain how it works. I talked with Kevin at SkyLabs at length and he also cannot explain why some videos views will be 10x over others. Now, it seems like he can crank out anything that will get a ton of views, that is true, but there is a huge variation between his videos. Historically, late spring/summer are decreased activity for hobbies, so it just may be timing. Of note, since I released the Dragon video, it has continued to get views, so it seems to have “legs” and just may be one where it gets a lot of views over a much longer time horizon.
