The only Altecs I own are the 604g variant of the Big Red monitors. I’ve always read great things about the Model 19, but have yet to own a pair though. They are quite a substantial speaker physically.
Unfortunately, one of the great brands I have NOT yet owned/heard. I was just speaking to a former long time dealer that raved about the ESS line and I have not read a negative comment that I can recall about them. That Heil tweeter seems to really set them apart.

I have been collecting confirmed repair shop information for some time. I am planning to share it somewhere here, just not sure how yet. Might be a simple Google Sheet that can be sorted.

I have two daughters myself, thus far, neither have any interest in a vintage stereo, but they are still young, maybe some day.
I am planning to do both some streaming and ripping my CDs sometime this year. Will be a fun learning experience.

Interesting. I can see a note under your original post that says it was modified. I think there is a time limit on how long you are able to edit a post. I’ll see if I can find it.
