Next up for restoration is a Revox A-77 Mk IV. I’ve completely restored it mechanically and electrically with kits from Nagravox who specialize in Nagra/Revox/Studer. I can’t say enough of Peter Mony@Nagravox as he’s been a big help in my restoration process. I’m determined to learn how to calibrate this deck (and of calibration in general), again with a kit from Nagravox, and have selected a specific tape formulation to do so, RTM SM-911. It’s on the way from Australia as I speak. I have the requisite tools and test equipment to do the job and I get along fairly well in audio repairs on my test bench, however this is something I’ve been wanting to undertake for quite some time. We shall see!

I had a beautiful Revox A-77 years ago.
The Mk III, circa 1971-1974. The Mk IV I have was changed to all silver controls, though I think the Mk III to be the most handsome!
Ahh, I was not up to speed on the nuances of the various releases. I sold that unit locally years ago before I moved. 🙂
